CLUB MEETING - FRIDAY 15TH APRIL 2011

1. CLUB MEMBERSHIP IS NOW DUE FOR THE YEAR 1ST APRIL 2011 – 31ST MARCH 2012 FORMS ARE IN THE SHOP ……. If you have paid and not received your card yet – please call into the dive centre to collect it.
2. CLUB MEMBERSHIP FOR THE UNDER 17’S OR IF STILL IN FULL TIME EDUCATION WAS DISCUSSED BY COMMITTEE MEMBERS. The committee members have agreed that if a member is under the age of 17 or still in full time education that a reduction for Club membership will be applied. THE REDUCED PRICE WILL BE £40.00
3. MARINA Glenn has had a meeting with Phil Godfrey, Marina Manager from Premier Marinas to which they discussed how to identify divers that are diving our Brighton Marina Dive Site without permission. They have decided that security will now check if you have permission to dive the site by asking each diver for their marina pass. So please ensure that you have your membership card with you if you are diving at the marina. If you do not have a membership then call into the office for a temporary card – the cost for non-members is £10.
4. WEYMOUTH/PORTLAND WEEKEND 7TH – 8TH MAY 2011 This trip is now full. For those that are going, there will be a meeting at the Dive Centre on Friday 29th April 2011 @ 14.00 Please ensure that you can make it or call the dive centre to let us know if you can’t – this is so that we can then update you with the schedule for the weekend
5. FRIDAY 29TH APRIL 2011 – BBQ We are hoping to have our 1st BBQ of the season on this date. (Something to do with a royal wedding). This will be weather dependant.
6. KERNOW DIVE FESTIVAL – 11TH – 12TH JUNE 2011 Only 3 x Spaces left. Also can you let the dive centre know if you are camping or staying in a B/B – we need to know numbers a.s.a.p.
7. RED SEA LIVE ABOARD 3rd July 2011 – Lots of spaces still available, could you please let us know if you are interested.
8. LYME REGIS WEEKEND – 10TH – 11TH SEPTEMBER 2011 Still 8 x Spaces left This is diving on the Miss Pattie (Hard Boat) with either camping or B/B the choice is yours.
9. NEMO 33 & BELGIUM CHRISTMAS MARKET (LATE NOVEMBER EARLY DECEMBER) Details to follow ..
10. SCAPA FLOW – 16TH – 24TH JUNE 2012 This trip is now FULL. For those that are going we need to now make up your deposit to £200 – (extra £50.00 from everyone on the trip) as we now have to pay our final balance for the deposit by 28th April 2011.
11. BDMLR COURSE (TO BE ARRANGED) If anyone is interested please put your names down on the form in the shop – need at least 6 people.
12. LITTLEHAMPTON/SHOREHAM DAY TRIPS We have had lots of interests in planning day trips a short distance along the coast. If there are any wreck in particular that you would like to dive then lets us know and we will see if we are able to do them. As soon as we have dates we will let you all know
13. CLUB POOL NIGHT IS FRIDAY 13TH MAY @ ROEDEAN GIRLS SCHOOL. This is for club members only. *no exceptions
14. TRIPS ALSO BEING PLANNED FOR 2012 – 2013 MAY INCLUDE:- Azores – (with Manta Rays, Whales & Dolphins) Isle of Man – (with seals & Basking Sharks) Lundy – (with seals) Farne Island – (with seals) Red Sea Mexico – (Cave Diving) Maldives Antartic Ice Diving Some different UK sites for 2012 – (Due to the Olympics taking place in Weymouth/Portland)
